Works by David Donald and Hannah Tilson

9 September – 21 Octoberl 2017 Thursday, Friday Saturday 1- 6pm

Private View: Thursday 28 September 2017 6 – 8pm

C4RD is pleased to present works by two contemporary artists who use drawing as part of their practice. Donald and Tilson are both interested in the world of drawings used for advertising, especially the use of logos for high end fashion lines.

For this exhibition Tilson focussed on the drawing as a finished work rather than a preparation for one of her paintings, thus giving the drawings space and an open, fresh feel. Donald’s highly technical and intricate drawings display a real love of draughtsmanship and the processes involved. Both artists have a clear perception of the image they want to draw and recreate giving a flat, pared down, unfussy feel. The images often evoke feelings of times past – the glory days – be that Italia ’90 or a Futurist styled motor car
