My interest is in spaces, what we fill them with and the nature of our relationship to them. I draw domestic spaces and represent them as part 3d line drawn edges and part flat perspective drawings upon the wall. They join together to make vague sketches that seem to push beyond the physical constraints of the gallery wall. I am interested in this play on perspective and the illusion that is created by a simple line. Because I am using 3d and flat drawing the complete picture seems to bend and distort as you move around the piece, therefore it becomes an interactive drawing that alters and changes as the viewer explores it. By using domestic scenes, I alter an environment that is usually associated with warmth and comfort but through drawing it becomes quite the opposite, empty and useless. I am interested in how these drawings alter a scene from personal to impersonal and what reactions this provokes within us.
